She has a double major in international relations and French and wrote a thesis on international law as part of her LLB (Hons) program. He currently works as a Research Assistant for the Australian Network for Japanese Law and has previously assisted a visiting prosecutor with research into the Australian witness protection program. In 2019, Scanlon will study Japanese language and law at Hokkaido University for 12 months before undertaking planned internships across Japan for a further six months.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Kate is in her final year of a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree at the University of Queensland. Kate has competed extensively in both mooting and negotiation at an internal, national and international level. Most recently, Kate was part of UQ’s 2017 Jessup Moot team, which was in the Top 16 teams at the International Rounds and received the Richard R Baxter Award for Best Overall Respondent Memorial. Kate also served as the President of the University of Queensland Law Society in 2016. Kate currently works as a research clerk for a senior commercial barrister. In 2019, she will commence as an Associate at the Queensland Court of Appeal.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Bethany is in her penultimate year of a Bachelor of Laws studying at the University of Wollongong. She has previously competed in a number of national mooting competitions, including Gibbs Constitutional Law Moot and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal National Mooting Competition, where she placed 2nd nationally in 2017. Bethany volunteers at the Illawarra Legal Centre and has assisted in national research projects in relation to homelessness and criminal conduct. She is a tutor within the University of Wollongong’s Indigenous Tailored Tutoring Program, providing weekly tutoring sessions to first- and second-year Indigenous students studying law. In the Summer between 2018/2019 she will be undertaking a clerkship at Herbert Smith Freehills (Sydney Office).</image:caption>

Jack participated in the 25th Willem C Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, where his team broke 10th to the finals rounds out of over 300 participating teams. He won both the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators’ Australian Vis Pre-Moot and the UQ Law Society King and Wood Mallesons Senior Moot. Jack currently works as a paralegal at Boeing Defence Australia. Outside work, Jack learns Yoshinkan Aikido under Michiharu Mori Sensei.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Caleb is in his final year of a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC). Caleb has competed in a variety of competitions in mooting and client interview. He was part of the 2017 USC Griffiths-Parry Mooting Competition winning team, also receiving awards of best speaker and best novice. He has also represented USC at the Australian Law Students’ Association 2018 Championship Moot competition. He has completed a summer internship with the Queensland Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and currently volunteers at the Queensland State-wide Tenants’ Advice and Referral Service. He also has experience volunteering in Community Law Centres in family law and domestic violence.</image:caption>

In 2017, Jacqueline undertook a year of scholarship-funded study abroad and work experiences in Beijing, where she studied law and economics in Chinese at Peking University. During this time, she worked across cross-cultural contexts with the Corporate and Institutional Banking division of National Australia Bank China. She also completed a nine-month internship at the Australian National University’s China Liaison Office under the Australian Chamber of Commerce. Jacqueline recently completed a winter clerkship at the Sydney and Hong Kong offices of Clifford Chance LLP and will commence as a summer clerk at Baker McKenzie Sydney later this year.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Charles is in his penultimate year of Bachelor of Laws at the University of Adelaide, having already acquired his Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing). Charles is clerking at MinterEllison during the upcoming summer break. In 2017, Charles completed an exchange at ESCP Paris. In 2019, he represented the University of Adelaide at an Ernst &amp; Young Advisory Consulting Competition in New York City, where he went on to land a corporate internship. He has competed at the Australasian Intervarsity Debating Championships as both a Debater and Adjudicator. Charles is currently the Senior Debate Coach for Scotch College Adelaide, a role in which he oversees five teams. Charles is also a Senior Adjudicator for the South Australian Debating Association, where he is called upon to adjudicate Senior Finals debates amongst secondary school students.
